Dhṛtarāṣṭra World
O Dhṛtarāṣṭra—
you have gone nowhere.
You did not remain in history.
You migrated—
into the minds of human beings,
where you are weighed every day,
conquering the kingdoms
of their inner worlds.
O Dhṛtarāṣṭra…
Once it was said,
“As the king, so the people.”
That road ended with the kings.
A new truth was born:
“As the people, so the king.”
And in democracy,
that truth grew teeth.
The collective human
took the form of Dhṛtarāṣṭra—
not one man,
but millions sharing one blindness.
For hunger of desires,
for temptations and indulgence,
people themselves
sacrificed their own rights
at the altar of convenience.
Sri Lanka crumbled.
Bangladesh drowned in corruption.
Nepal collapsed under silence.
Iran, Israel, Iraq—
Palestine, Ghana, Ukrain—
lands reduced to monuments
of death and memory.
Pakistan became
a kingdom of rampaging terror,
devouring its own children
along with its neighbours’.
America now proclaims itself
the supreme power—
yet mirrors the darkness
it claims to fight.
When people themselves
become Dhṛtarāṣṭras,
no tyrant is required.
The world will not fall forward.
It will only
spiral backward—
with open eyes
and closed consciences.
